Bonds hist first HR of season - I don't know which is worse today, D-Lee out for 2+ months or the fact that this scumbag is about to pass Babe Ruth because of this chemically enhanced generation of ball players.
Bud please please hurry up and sideline this guy permanently. This is the only way to avoid the asterisks.

More Joel - A programmer is most productive with a quiet private office, a great computer, unlimited beverages, an ambient temperature between 68 and 72 degrees (F), no glare on the screen, a chair that's so comfortable you don't feel it, an administrator that brings them their mail and orders manuals and books, a system administrator who makes the Internet as available as oxygen, a tester to find the bugs they just can't see, a graphic designer to make their screens beautiful, a team of marketing people to make the masses want their products, a team of sales people to make sure the masses can get these products, some patient tech support saints who help customers get the product working and help the programmers understand what problems are generating the tech support calls, and about a dozen other support and administrative functions which, in a typical company, add up to about 80% of the payroll." - This is fantastic. Oh so many managers are good yet clueless. I mean if your engineer is wasting cycles thinking about backing up his machine or the sweat running off his brow, they are failing at their job.

Joel On Software - "..if your programmers even spend one minute thinking about this that's one minute too many."

Just picked up the Chicks "Not Ready To Make Nice", it would be a beautiful thing to see Neil Young and the Chicks burning up the charts right about now as we send Dubbya packing (and his collection of money grubbing, oil chasing, poor marksmen and generally dubious cohorts) back to Texas. Remember what the percentages were when Natalie told you Dubbya was a bum ?

Much as I love, and occasionally hate, the engineering of the iPod. I am disgusted at Mr. Jobs attempts to extract information about his employees who choose to leak to the press (in this case a blog). My usual term for this is krap. Apple pushed to unmask product leader - zdnet.com - I have my eyes on several non-Apple players and Steve is going to push away if he doesn't leave the innocent alone and do his business dirty work at the office rather than in the courts.
